ILCA/Laser PTFE/Teflon Mast Step Disc
60mm diameter x 1mm thick PTFE/Teflon* disc. Simply drop it into the mast step to help to protect the bottom of it against wear from the mast. Strong and long-lasting.
Recommendations
- Flush out the mast step regularly with the boat on its side to remove any sand, grit etc.
- Replace the disk when worn out as it is better to wear out the disk than the bottom of the mast step.
- When turning the boat over for storage, transport, cleaning or repair, remember to pickup and store the disk as it will fall out. It cannot fall out in use as the mast keeps it firmly in place
*PTFE and Teflon are exactly the same thing. Teflon is a brand name for the material PTFE, which is a synthetic polymer with excellent low-friction and hard-wearing properties.
