Severne Metal Boom
The Severne Metal Boom is a T8 aluminium monocoque construction wave & freeride boom. Monocoque construction means the boom has a continuous tube running through the front end, rather than separate arms attached at the front. This provides greater rigidity, better load distribution, and enhanced durability compared with two-piece designs.
The Severne Metal Boom comes in 3 sizes (in the UK*) and is designed to be robust and reliable and with a small 26mm diameter tube for grip comfort.
The 170-220 is in the older Grey Camo colour and currently has 20% off.
*Please note that the 160-210 Metal boom is not available in the UK.
Metal vs Blueline Booms
The main difference between the Metal and the Bluline boom is the diameter of the boom arms. The Metal boom has 26mm arms whereas the Blueline boom has 29mm arms. This makes the Metal boom more comfortable to hold. Each Metal boom is approximately 0.2kg heavier than the equivalent size of Blueline boom, despite having a 10cm smaller range of adjustment to cover a narrower sail range.
